Written for a very accomplished soprano college friend this setting of Walt Whitman's "Darest Thou now O Soul" is an early composition, but contains elements that I have always felt worked. There are several sections that could be better, but it is published in it's original form as a record of that form.

Written for a friend while at University, this setting of "To a Certain Civilian" by Walt Whitman has an ethereal quality that I hope matches the sentiment of the text. The fact it is for a countertenor voice adds to this, although there is no reason it couldn't be performed by any other voice.
